NEWS

StoicDan co-authored an academic paper on human flourishing, which was accepted by the AOM and will be presented in Copenhagen in July 2025. How can we turn human suffering into human thriving in the modern workplace? StoicDan and 4 others produced this paper from a humanist perspective. Core principles were identified to help CEOs/managers to promote flourishing practices at work. To learn more, you can download the press release. The paper will be presented at the 85th annual conference of the Academy of Management in July 2025. #AOM2025

StoicDan spoke at a Symposium for Florida State College (Oct 2024). StoicDan was one of 12 speakers at the half-day event. His breakout sessions were: Introduction to Stoicism, Psychology of Stoicism, and Stoic Ethics. The overall goal of the event was to expose students to concepts of Resiliency, Grit, and Stoicism. The event was hosted at the FSC Wilson Center for the Arts in South Jacksonville.

StoicDan has joined The Central Florida Pledge. It's a community-building program to stop hate and discrimination against all groups. This is achieved by listening to others and forming a better awareness of each other. No one in Central Florida should live in fear. StoicDan is among a list of government and religious leaders who are official signatories of The Pledge. In the coming year, StoicDan will be speaking at public events about the need for more civil discourse in our society. This is an important underpinning of The Pledge, The Interfaith Council, The Peace and Justice Institute, and the Orlando Stoics.

StoicDan appeared in Orlando Life magazine as a board member for 1 Million Cups Orlando, a group that helps entrepreneurs refine their goals and direction in the Orlando business community. In 2023, StoicDan also taught a business ethics and leadership class at the UCF Incubator.
