Power & Influence in Project Management
DeVry University, Millenia Campus 4000 Millenia Blvd Orlando, FL 32839
Description: 0830-1700 06APR2100 at Dry University Orlando. The more power you have, the easier it is to get the job done. Ignoring external and internal politics surrounding your projects can be hazardous. Project managers have enormous responsibilities with no formal authority, and they cannot succeed without the proper understanding of power and how to use it. Successful project managers recognize the need to evaluate power and political dynamics and the importance of managing stakeholders through influence.

April 2010 PMITB Sarasota Dinner Meeting
    METI
    Description:

What if you treated the next year of your life like a project? That's a question I asked myself years ago and nothing has been the same for me since. No, your life is not a project, but you can use the principles of project management to make your life richer, energetic, and full of joy.

In project management there must be a purpose to launch a project. Is your life so different? All projects begin with a vision: a mental image of how the current status can be changed into some distant future status. Do you have a vision for your life? What characteristics of your life need improvement, removal, or addition? What are you looking for?

TBARTA’s Board approved its Master Plan in May 2009, creating both a Long-Term Regional Network (a vision leading up to the year 2050) and a Mid-Term Regional Network (an implementation plan leading up to year 2035). In late April 2010, TBARTA merged with Bay Area Commuter Services (formerly known as BACS).
