Our left brain mental skills produce lists, text, and numbers while our right brain interprets color, images, intuition, rhythm, and imagination!
While Professor Sperry was confirming the capacity for humans to think and create using both hemispheres of our brains, Tony Buzan was creating a process called “mind mapping” or “radiant thinking” in which he helped people formulate their thoughts and ideas through color, pictures and letters.
A mind map is often a visual and colorful representation of thoughts and ideas – a visual “manifestation” of how our brains work. A mind map can help provide a clear picture of information enabling the viewer to take in large amounts of data and associated ideas from a single picture.
