IntelPlay(tm) was the brain child of Intel and Mattel Chairpersons, Andy Grove and Jill Barad respectively. Come join us for an inside look at how this global effort yielded the best-selling technology toy of the 1999 Christmas season but then ended up with the two companies “divorcing” in a culture clash.

About the Speaker: 
Mr. Rose was employed at Mattel, El Segundo, CA from 1995 through 2000. In his last position with the company, he was the Product Engineering Manager for Mattel's IntelPlay Smart Toy Group. Mr. Rose managed the hardware development and manufacturing startup across three continents, and reported directly to Mattel's Chief Strategy officer.

Eric P. Rose, NPDP is a product development professional with over twenty five years experience in bringing healthcare and consumer products to market. He is a co-founder and Past President of the Product Development and Management AssociationŐs Los Angeles Chapter (PDMA-LA). Today, he is the Director of R&D at a local healthcare products manufacturer and a freelance new product development and management consultant.

Mr. Rose holds a BS Industrial Design and an MBA. He is a guest lecturer on innovation at his alma mater, Pepperdine University. He has been certified as a New Product Development Professional by the international office of the Product Development and Management Association. Mr. Rose is one of approximately 1000 who hold such a certification worldwide. Mr. Rose has taught fundamentals of project management and MS Project to the staffs of numerous companies in the Southern California area.
