Q: How often are dinner meetings held? A: Dinner meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of the month (unless otherwise noted on the website). They cover various topics and themes throughout the year, and represent excellent networking opportunities.

Q: How many PDUs will I receive for attending a dinner meeting? A: Dinner meetings are worth 1 PDU. 1 hour presentation = 1 PDU.
Q:How do I report PDUs for dinner meetings and breakfast roundtables? A:Events which are 1-2 PDUs are not required to be registered with PMI Global Operations Center (GOC). Follow the instructions below to report your PDUs to PMI GOC. PMI-LA does not report PDUs to PMI, nor track PDUs for members. It is the members responsibility to report their PDUs for credit. You will receive 1 PDU for each Dinner and/or Breakfast meeting you attend.
1. Click here to enter PMI's online PDU reporting system. 2. Select Category 3 (PMI-LA is an REP/Component). 3. Enter C040 under Option 3. 4. Click on 1-2 PDU event. 5. Enter the information required on the next screen. The number of PDUs for dinner meetings and breakfast roundtable meetings is one. 6. Click "Preview". 7. Click "Finalize" on the next page. 8. The report should be reflected on your transcript within a week.
Q: How do I register for an Event (dinner meeting, seminar, etc.)? A: Go to the Events page and click on the event that you would like to attend. If registration is open, you will be able to click on make a reservation. You can also go straight to the online registration page and the open events should be available on the drop-down menu. Please fill out the form to register. A registration number will be e-mailed to you once your submission has been accepted. Please note that all registrations need to be done via the website. We no longer accept registrations by e-mail or phone.
Q: When does online pre-registration close? A: Online pre-registration closes the Tuesday night prior to the Thursday dinner meeting at 8:00 pm. Cutoff dates for other events are defined in the event descriptions.
Q: What if I miss pre-registration? A: Dinner meeting check-in is from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm the night of the dinner meeting. If you pre-registered online, your meal will be held for you. If you did not pre-register online, please arrive before 7:00 pm to ensure you get a meal. The restaurant provides a certain number of extra meals for walk-ins. Members arriving after the extra meals are sold can attend just the meeting portion for $15 (coffee and dessert) and will be seated at reserved seats towards the back of the banquet room. Any member arriving after 7:00 pm will need to locate the Director of Finance to check-in. The $15 option is not available for pre-registration. It is only available to those individuals who arrive after 7:00 pm and meals are no longer available.
Q: Is there a student discount? A: There is a discounted pre-registration rate of $25 for students. A student ID is required at the time of check-in, in order to get the discounted pre-registration fee. If attending at the request of a professor, an e-mail to pmi-la@keyway.net from that professor with a list of attending students prior to the Tuesday cut-off is required, in order for all students to get the discounted rate. Should a student arrive late and not be pre-registered, the same $15 fee will apply for the meeting alone.
Q: How do I become a PMI-LA member? A: To become a member of the chapter, please visit the PMI Membership page on the PMI Global website. Follow the links for the appropriate type of membership (Individual, Student or Retiree). Once you have added the Membership to your cart, select the Los Angeles chapter by browsing the communities through the link at the bottom of the PMI Marketplace screen.
